Preve

Prevê is an open-source personal finance management system, created to solve a problem I faced myself: relying on spreadsheets to manage my finances.

The name comes from the Portuguese word for predictability — the core idea is simple: know exactly where you stand financially, with no surprises at the end of the month.

The project was born from two goals: learning Vue.js hands-on and building a tool I would actually use every day. The backend is built with Laravel and the frontend with Vue.js using Inertia.

Nearly all development was done live on my YouTube channel, with active participation from the community — contributing opinions, suggestions, and issues throughout the process.

Version 1 includes transaction management, categories, tags, recurring transactions, and a dashboard with a monthly balance overview. Next steps include credit card support, a savings jar system, and a public API for anyone who wants to build their own frontend.

The project is completely free and open to contributions.
